_MERO Raised Floor Project secures RIBA award

MERO-SCHMIDLIN (UK) PLC are delighted to announce that the WWF HQ, The Living Planet Centre, in Woking has again been recognised by the architectural sector, this time in the RIBA South East Regional Awards. The Hopkins Architects designed building includes a multitude of sustainability features of which the MERO Raised Flooring System was just one, in enabling it to secure the highest possible BREEAM rating of 'Outstanding'

MERO Raised Floor Project secures RIBA award

As Neil Burrows, MERO-SCHMIDLIN's Raised Floor Sales Manager commented:

" Our specialist expertise in both installation and material specification enabled MSUK to issue full warranty on the complete system which we believe was not achievable by any of the other companies who had tendered for the package"

As you would expect from the WWF sustainability was at the forefront of every procurement decision and as such all of the MERO system was required to meet Full Stewardship Council (FSC) certification and a full FSC Chain of Custody Certificate to prove the origin of all materials was then provided.

Neil and his team went to great lengths to include as much recycled content as possible even to the extent of using factory bonded ceramic tiles (Strata Italian Merazzo) which also included significant levels of recycled content.
